Honor Chior
This year I had honor chior again, it was so much fun! We had to wake up at 5:15 in order to be at the bus on time at 6:00. It was funny a bunch of the girls brought with them these huge suit cases, and i brought two little bags. It made me laugh, anyway. We got there at about 8 or 9 o'clock. Our directer was kind of crazy but very good. The songs we sang this year were: Choose Something Like a Star (combined piece), Mata Del Anima Sola (spanish song) (girls piece), I tried out for a solo on that song. Hoj, Hura Hoj! (Czech song) (a girls piece that was really crazy), Brooklyn got a solo on that song. I'm Gonna Rise (combined song), Take Me to the Water ( girls song) and as usuall the boys peices were amazing. Amazing!
Everyone who went this year was Adrienne, Marqui, Naomi, Natalie, Andria, Gabby, Jessica, and a few other girls I can't remember. (Boys) Kalin, Weston, Kyle, Bryson, Talin, And other boys also. We had a fun group this year.
We got to the high school we were practicing in, and it ended up brooklyn my cousin was there. It was so fun. It was a long practice though all day long. We had to practice until 11:00 the go to lunch, and come back. We had dinner at 4:00 and we had to be back by 6:00 to practice again and go to our hotel at 9:00. It was nuts but it ended up that time went really fast. We went to eat dinner at 9:00 when we got back because we checked into our hotel so that took more than half of the dinner time. Anyway we ate at denny's, It was so much fun. I don't think they enjoyed us comming in that late. (Tee hee) But it was so much fun.
The next day we had practice at Abravanel Hall. It was a huge building that is so pretty. But in that time we had to get everyone standing in order and so one didn't cover the other person. That took forever long. Then we had to go to the mall to eat. But most of the girls I went with ended up shopping instead of eating. Grrrr. I went back to Abravanel Hall early because I wanted to listen to the boys before the other girls came around to scream when the boys sang. That was the annoying part. The girls screamed and screamed. But the boys songs were really fun...it was really cool. The boys didn't get a chance to eat cause when I got back people started comming in.
Now it comes to the big concert...It was so fun to be in that building. It echoed everywhere. The girls sang their songs first. Then the boys, then the combined songs. Oh I loved it being around all those people hearing the different voices and it was amazing. Then sadly it had to end. I still miss honor chior and can't wait for next year. I had a blast.
Temple Trip
Saturday July 18 I got the opportunity to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple with our ward. I woke up at 5:00 and we left at 6:15 it wasn't that bad waking up that early. We set off about 6:30. On the way up it was so fun we watched the movie, Bedtime stories, its a really cute movie. When we got there we had to wait about 30 minuets to get in. It was so beautiful inside and outside the temple. You had this amazing feeling when you walked in the doors. Outside the temple it looked so small but you walk in its huge. My favorite rooms were the sealing rooms and the celectrial room. It was so pretty.
When we got out of the temple we went to Golden Coral. That was so much fun I ate so much. The first place I went to was the meat place. Then next I went to the fruit place all you can eat baby! The watermelon wasn't so good though is was kind of blah, and so was the cantaloupe. That's fine because they had strawberries and then a bunch of people got chocolate and dipped the strawberries in the chocolate to make chocolate strawberries. Then to the ice cream i got a twist chocolate and vanilla that was pretty good. That food was so good.
had to double suit before so it was really weird at first. Then they had four boys and four girls go in and sit on separate benches. Then after you got baptized you had to just rinse off the chlorine and then put on the dry suits and get confirmed. Then after that you go and get ready and sit there and wait for everyone else. It was really different compared to the Manti Temple.
After we went to do Baptizms our car went to the mall. And we had a contest thing but it didn't turn out to be a contest. We were going to try to just go up to some random guy and hold is hand then you would look at him and be like Oh i'm sorry wrong person. All of us were too scared to do that so we just went to go talk to cute guys and that kind of work. Laurel got the worst part of the deal. She got a guy who had two lip earings, it was so funny. I saw this group of cute guys and I got someone to come with me. We kept trying to get there attention, but the stupid kids would just look at us and keep walking, personaly I don't blame them. But then we saw these two boys and they were really cute one and a green shirt on and one had a orange shirt with a white hat, they were both pretty cute. We talked to them for awhile and then we stopped cause we had to go, it was really funny. We all had a blast.
