Body Worlds

Tuesday, October 28th, we got the chance to go to Body Worlds up in Salt Lake. IT was really interesting. I liked it a lot. Before you go and when you just think about it, it makes you cringe. And the thought kind of freaks you out. But it was really interesting.

It started out when all of the other girls on our bus got mad because they found out that there would not be any boys on our bus. All of the girls that had boyfriends got mad, and almost didn't go. But me and laurel said we would make it fun. And listen to music. So at 7:30 Laurel and I walked down. We ran a lot because we though the bus would leave us. Because it leaves at 8:00. We got down to the bus at about 5 minutes before. So we loaded the bus.

On the way up we sat by these bratty girls that treated every one like crap. But our bus ride was really fun. We had our MP3 players to entertain us. Then the bratty girls said that our music was not the style and we said that we didn't care. They said we couldn't listen to our music unless it was their music. We said get used to our music because its not coming off. So they stopped bugging us. That made the ride a lot more peaceful.

When we got there I was kind of worried if it smelled weird. Because the smells always get me. But no it was amazing. The people gave us these little books with a heart on them, and a pencil so we could take notes. We started out with the heart section. And to tell you the truth I didn't know that the heart was that amazing. They showed that the heart pumped 1,800 gallons of blood every day. The Heart can get up to various sizes.

Then they showed the whole skeleton. The toes and fingers were my favorite part. The eyes were cool too. Then they showed you a bone that was cut in half. I didn't know this but the bone is not solid. It kind of looks like a sponge inside. it gets thicker as the bone gets bigger. it showed us the Spine. The spine is what allows us to do everything we do. It showed us that the knee can ware out so easily. Then they showed us this statue of all of the ligaments and nerves. We have so many nerves. Its amazing out the body works.

It Showed us the brain. The brain has two parts and if you are left handed your left half of the brain works better then the right. And the same if you are a right handed person. There was this one Poster that showed that you could die from a broken heart. And how it can happen is from stress and if you lost a loves one and can't stop thinking about it.

Then we got to the Statue section to the tour. That was a really cool part to. There was this one with a girl shooting a Bow and arrow. And it was amazing how the muscles worked. And in that section was the best part. There was a room that showed the babies different sizes. It started at five weeks and went up. You could see the babies head at five or six weeks. It was amazing how fast the babies grow. They were so small and just precious. It was amazing how small they started out. No wonder the mothers that have babies love their babies the moment they see them.

After that we got to see a heart of a bull. It was as big as my head, no lie. It was huge. Then we went down this escalator. And down in that room we saw two camels. They were huge. I didn't know camels were that big. It was cool cause you could see the tongues in the mouths. Then we were pretty much done. Then it was time for the ride home.

The ride home seemed so long. But it gave me a lot of time to think. I am so thankful for what God made us to be. It must have taken him a long time to put us all together. I'm so thankful for our heart that keeps us alive. And our bones that let us move. So ya it was an amazing trip. I loved it.

Baptisms for the Dead

Saterday 15 we went to do Baptisms for the Dead. I love the manti temple it is so pretty. We got there at about 2:30.

I was one of the first to get Baptised and Confermed. After I was done, it felt like we were there forever. Nikki was at the organ when i got out. I tried to play the left hand for her but it didn't work out to well. Then Brittany Fauver came and asked if she could play. Nikki let her play the left hand. Then Nikki let Brittany play solo, and us singing very quietly along. Just as we started so sing, the bishop came and said we are going to eat.

We got to eat at the cafateria there. Which was really neat becasue I have never eaten there. And i have heard a lot about it. I got chicken, mashed potatoes, jello with peaches in it and soup. But the soup wasn't really good. It was too thick. But is was cream of broccoli it was weird tasting. I sat by Cassidy, Brittany, Larual. ( sorry larual can't spell) Then the bishop got up and said it is time to go. So when we got outside of the temple, it was dark. You could barly see the glow of the sun just below the mountains. The Temple was so pretty with the purpleish lights on the temple. that made the temple glow purple.

When we got into the car, we had Alisha, Melany, Brittany, and Larual in the car with us. On the way home we stoped at this gas station for a bathroom brake. And Brittany went in and she came out and she said, " There are condoms in there!" Then Larual went in and you heard this, " Oh dear!" She came out and started laughing. Then I had to go and i just kinda kept my eyes down. Cause I heard those were bad. Then we all went back into the car.

On the way home we played this game where you had to say a word and think of a song that had that word in it. But Alisha and Melany had there Ipods so we kept loosing. Then we played a game where you had to quote disney movies. The Back seat won that time. Ha Ha. Then we got home.
